I feel like there should be a gaming system. movie player that has a 6 disk changer. Instead of walking to the system in order to change the disk, you will be able to put a couple of disks in the system and just change it with a remote or controller. There will be a home screen on the system that you can get to with your controller, and on this home screen you can click disk 1, disk 2 disk 3 etc. This idea will not only keep you from having to get up in order to change the game or movie, but it will also keep you from constantly taking the disks out of its case and inserting it into the player. A lot of people have problems scratching their disks because they are constantly handling them. This idea will help avoid that. In my opinion this is an idea that is well over due and i am surprised it has not been created yet.

It is used when people want to share digital files with other people or "peers". Today, enormous amounts of files rare being transferred on a daily basis. A few examples of files that are often shared are things like movies, songs, computer programs. People are always trying to share these files free, which is often illegal. There are many sites that have come and gone that were involved in P2P, but have had copyright issues. Sites like Napster, Limewire, Ares are few of the music sites who shared files illegaly. In a New York Times article entitled "Digital Pirates Winning Battle with Studios" they talk about illegal file sharing that has had an impact on the movie industry. They talk about a case that has to do with the distribution of illegal copies of the Batman movie that has been downloaded more than seven million times around the word. This is just an example of the many illegal file sharing issues that are going on today. P2P sharing has changed the way we receive and share files and it will continue to grow with the continuous advances in new media and technology.

Advice to Baruch
Baruch is a school that does an excellent job using technology and new media to make life for their students easier. I am a transfer student that has been to 3 schools all together, and Baruch is the most technologically advanced institution. It's use of programs like blackboard, esims make being a student easier. These programs give us a chance to keep up with classes as well as register for new classes and have the convenience of being in our own home.
If I were to give advice to Baruch in order to make it more advanced in technology and new media I would recommend it create a program that could live stream sporting events online. Baruch athletics is a big part of the college and if there was a way to watch the games online it would be great for the college. It could also create clubs or programs for film or broadcasting. This idea would allow students to attend the sports games in order to stream online. I think it would create new opportunities for people to get involved in Baruch life.

Privacy and Confidentiality
Privacy is a concept that has been very popular in the many advances in technology. In todays world, everything is linked to you and with private information. Your social media accounts is something that contains a lot of your personal information. When creating a social media account they ask you for your address, email address, cell phone number and more. Now a big concern a lot of people have is if this information is safe and protected from outside users. These sites do contain privacy settings however people are finding that there are many ways around these settings.
Todays generation is being encouraged to watch what they put on these social media sites. Jobs that are hiring are now starting to look people up that are applying. Often people are losing jobs opportunities due to what they post on these sites. Privacy settings on these sites do work however people are being warned that there are ways around these settings. To avoid any problems people should play it safe and keep their social media sites clean.

Creativity and New Media
New media has given people a chance to be creative in many different ways. Nike is a company that has jumped on board with this idea of new media and has given people a chance to customize gear. This concept is called NikeID. From sneaker to clears to clothing, you are able to pick colors, styles and put your Id on things. I play baseball here at Baruch and I have customized a pair of baseball clears that I may be wearing this season.
